Scarecrow – since his identity is unknown, he is currently adopting a nickname given by Glass. He’s the prime suspect for the mass-murderer behind the Hell Gate incident, but doesn’t seem to care much for it.
Pinocchio – the iconic terrorist of Circus, a band of runaway Violets. His goal is unknown but it has something to do with all the Patrollers he’s been slaughtering. He gives nicknames out to his ‘kin,’ and insists they use at all times.
Bubo Buwong – currently a jaded representative of the Parity Movement, she is fiercely loyal to the Messenger.
Bernard O’Sullivan – the proclaimed Messenger and leader of the Parity Movement.

Bertram Rudy – head of the infamous criminal circle Rudy Boys. His power over Fumo rivals Hendrick Victor.
Aisling Belleme – a high-ranking officer within the Rudy Boys hierarchy, she is a spoiled princess-type who doesn’t deal well when things don’t go her way.
Anna Belleme – Aisling’s younger sister and bodyguard, thanks to her Violet symptoms she is able to put up quite a fight- though she’d much rather go home and curl up in bed.
Hyul Mul – leader of the Elu Clan, she is a bitter street mobster whose grand ideas to liberate Violets have twisted.
Pesh – the youngest member of the Elu Clan- and their apparent trump card.
Christopher Mez - the leader of AVA, leading the political movement against Violets with the belief that Violets cannot be controlled, and it is more safer for them simply to be purged and eliminated before the Virus gets any worse.
Evy Ranford - Mez’s erratic bodyguard who seems to be in for it just for the fight rather than AVA’s cause.
Lucinda Glass – a rookie ‘therapist,’ apprentice to the infamous Dr Adler. She has recently been assigned to being responsible for Scarecrow’s welfare. Chaos ensues. She is highly sensitive and has long-lasting guilt problems over the smallest of matters.
Asio Matoyl – despite being half-Romian, Matoyl had managed to become head of his department after a chain of successful missions in the Patrol Office. He makes an ideal leader, being strict when necessary, with has an overall relaxed personality- but can be sarcastic bastard. Is childhood friends with Glass.
Morgan Victor – the only (surviving) child of Hendrick Victor, the executive and founder of Vanguard. She is technically Asio’s secretary but unofficially she’s his bodyguard because she’s a tough cookie. She’s rarely seen talking to anyone other than Asio or her butler.
Charlotte “Jan” Janvier – a totally chilled out Inspector who likes to offer candy to her co-workers.
Philip Keen – a totally not chilled out Violet Patroller who has been partnered up with Jan. They are pretty much polar opposites in terms of personality and views; Keen is a hothead who spends most of his working hours yelling at Jan to move her lazy ass.
Derurey Geruri Reruri/ “Timpy” – a Violet Patroller who has been partnered with Shakespeare. Timpy is a Barlenese boy who came to Espoira a few years ago so he isn’t quite fluent with the language yet. His name was apparently too much effort so he ended up getting an Espoiran substitute.
Asa Shakespeare – a fellow Inspector who is rumoured to be getting a promotion quite soon. He is polite and calm, making him an ideal leader to work under. He is currently Timpy’s holder.
Dr Thomas Adler – a (mad) scientist who specializes in drugs and pharmaceuticals (with a side hobby of explosives), working on the almost hopeless quest to cure the Violet Virus. He has developed the most commonly used medicine for Violets to stabilize their symptoms and senses.
Hendrick Victor – the head Executive and Founder of Vanguard. He is a charismatic and confident leader who likes wine and laughing.
Fumo – the capital city of Espoira, and the home base to many trade routes, businesses and factories. It also holds one of the biggest Violet research and rehab facilities, making it a popular starting point for enthusiastic scientists and doctors.
Sweeps – a term used to refer to the main ‘levels’ of Fumo, lower Sweeps make up the majority of slum towns and red light districts, whilst the higher Sweeps, also colloquially known as the Golden Chimney which house the richer portion of the population.
Pipe-Runner – a term used for mostly youngsters who climb and play on top of buildings and pipes. It is argued whether or not this is considered vandalism or trespassing of other people’s property.
Crown – the currency used in Espoira and in many parts of the Empire. 50 teeth make up a Crown.
Hell Gate Incident – a recent event which occurred at the outskirts of Fumo, where an entire district of people was killed instantaneously. Name withheld, the lone survivor of the event has been arrested as prime suspect of this mass-murder.
Circus – a terrorist group formed of Violets who target and slaughter random Patrollers, both human and Violet. Its most iconic member is Pinocchio who has been sighted at many of Circus’ crime scenes.
Rudy Boys – a famous criminal circle which deals in illegal trafficking of humans, drugs and weapons. They are quite neutral in terms of whom their client is and are willing to sell goods to Circus and Vanguard if such a situation was ever to arise. (Not all members are male though lol)
Daggers – a street gang formed of girls who had run away from abusive homes or haven’t been able to find decent work. They had carried trademark daggers but it’s mostly ornamental rather than a weapon. Daggers had undergone chaos ever since their leader had caught the Violet Virus.
AVA - short for the Anti-Violet Assembly, formed by a group of extremists who are radically against the existence of Violets. They firmly believe that Violets do not deserve any basic rights and should be automatically be put to death when the Virus develops, whether or not they have committed a crime.
Elu Clan - a gang of rogue Violets, recently formed after finding illegal technology to remove their Correctives. Most of them are considered immature, impatient and extremely violent.
Almish Faith – the most dominant religion which is practiced across most of the Empire, which some would believe has originated from Ciel. The Almish faith refers to God as Almir or the Great Teacher, who had come to the people during natural disasters, famine and terrible wars, teaching them how to build they can have their homes back, farm so they can eat again, and love so wars can end. Almir is usually portrayed as a tall figure completely covered with a cloak, some believe the Teacher has a human form under the cloak, or has a head of a bird, or is a giant, and there are even some who believe the Teacher has no physical form at all.
The Passing – when someone dies, their spirit sinks to the next world, which begins at Hell. They then have to walk towards Almir’s domain, not being tempted or tricked by any of the demons which reside within the Passing.
Tear Catcher – this is a small bottle which allows relatives of the deceased to cry into. This bottle is then buried with the deceased so it can act as protection against the demons in the Passing. The more tears the Catcher holds, the more likely chance the deceased can successfully enter Almir’s domain. Soldiers of war and even Patrollers sometimes carry a pre-cried Catcher around their neck.
The Parity Movement – a secret organized group within the Church who follow someone called ‘the Messenger,’ who is apparently the key to salvation for Violets and humans.
Espoira – an industrious and powerful country which has dominated most of its neighbours and beyond, creating the Espoiran Empire. It is currently ruled by His Majesty, King Lulan Theatra. Most of its people have relatively pale skin, ‘pure’ Espoirans have dark hair and pale blue eyes.
Vinland – a small and politically weak country which has been colonized by the Empire for most of its significant history. It’s also warmer than Espoira, making it a famous holiday spot for rich Espoiran tourists. The Vinnish have distinctive red hair and are freckle-faced.
Romia – after a bloody history of wars, Romia had become part of the Empire about 20 years ago. Its people are discriminated due to this long skirmish and for their dark brown eyes which are considered ‘contaminated,' they're in fact frequently mistaken for the Violet Virus.
Yunshi- culturally quite similar to Romia but geographically, Yunshi is far warmer with desert and mountain regions being the country’s defining physical traits. The people have slightly darker skin and have deep blue or green eyes.
Barlen- one of the largest countries in the worlds but not the most heavily populated. It is a continental climate so endures harsh winters with lots of snow. The land itself is split into fourteen provinces, each with their own separate governing system. The Barlenese people have distinctive pale hair colours with light-brown eyes.
Ciel – the head of the Kley Empire- named after their founder King. Ciel is friends with the Espoiran Empire, and has been a great political and military ally, especially during the Romian War. Ciel is located nearer to the equator so it’s a warm, fertile country, involving it in a number of trades with the rest of the Empire. The people there are dark-skinned and have brightly coloured eyes.
Obre- a continent which is usually isolated from any political conflict -that does not meant it is not involved at all. A good portion of the land is covered with rainforest and goldmines and both the Kley Empire had colonized a few of the countries in order to obtain the raw materials available.
Violet Virus – a mysterious virus which appeared 20 years ago just before the Romia War ended. Method of infection is unknown; though it is commonly believed that it is passed through the eyes so most people tend to wear goggles or glasses when in public to prevent it from entering. Symptoms of the Virus are a change in eye colour (pitch black with a violet ring), dangerously violent behaviour, madness and mutations.
Vanguard – a government-funded organization which administrates and regulates Violets. Any legal case involving a Violet is treated as a separate manner from human court and transferred to Vanguard instead. This organization carries a large body of people ranging in different professions, such as scientists, doctors, Violet-specialised policemen, lawyers ect.
Caeruleum Court – the legal system which deals with Violet cases only. Though the Court itself comes under Vanguard’s Justice Department, it holds more power than the Executive of Vanguard itself.
Registry Office – Violets by law have to register themselves the moment they catch the Virus. Depending on the nature of their weapon, they might be sent to Vanguard for immediate rehab or wear a Tag and continue with their lives. This registration takes place in the Registry Office, which also acts as a police-station specialising in Violet arrest if one does not come forward or if one becomes violent in public.
Patroller – a Vanguard Officer who is responsible for arresting or capturing rogue/violent/unregistered Violets. These Officers can have Violets too amongst their ranks, whilst the same rank are usually dubbed as Corrected Officers, and are strictly controlled by their Holder.
Holder - any Vanguard employee who is responsible for their Violet colleague. A Holder does not necessarily oversee the health and mental state of their Violets, but makes sure they are working efficiently without breaking any Vanguard regulations. They also have a temperate Corrective Breaker, which allows Violets to make better use of their Symptoms in a limited time frame. Patrollers usually are Holders for just one Violet, and have C-Breakers which can last up to three hours.
Dodger - colloquial term for Violets with public passes or Corrected officers, in that they had "dodged" the system and gained freedom
Therapist - whilst Holders oversee Violet activity in the public, Therapists are responsible for the overall welfare for a Violet, including mental state and their mutations.
Corrective – a mechanised choker designed to surpress a Violet’s Symptoms to create a weapon. It however, cannot completely seal them away since for that to be possible, the Violet has to be brain-dead. Patroller-standard Correctives can be loosened for a short period of time allowing Violet Patrollers use their Symptoms to assist in arrest/capture of others.
Tag – so the public knows that the Violet is legally registered whether as a citizen or a Patroller, they have to wear a violet-coloured armband at all times. On the inside cover it contains their identity and Public Pass.
